
Jane is a shareholder at the law firm Watkinson Laird Rubenstein PC. Jane practices primarily in real estate, business law, and intellectual property areas. Jane’s work includes negotiating and drafting contracts of all types, including leases and real estate transaction documents, license agreements, and other business related contracts.
While at the firm, Jane took a sabbatical to work in house as the Head of Corporate Legal/Chief Privacy Officer for a tech start up. Prior to joining the firm, she clerked for the Honorable Gregory Foote at the Oregon District Court of Lane County.
Jane has been awarded an AV Preeminent Rating, the highest rating through Martindale-Hubbell Peer Review, served on the board of Oregon Women Lawyers, served as the president of the Lane County Bar Association, and was selected as Selected as 2013, 2014, and 2015 Rising Star by Super Lawyers Magazine.
Jane obtained her law degree from the University of Oregon School of Law and a certificate in Cybersecurity and Privacy Law from Mitchell Hamline School of Law. She graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Arts in Comparative Literature from the American University of Paris.
Prior to completing her education, Jane worked in live television production where she was part as the technical crew as a computer graphics operator. Some of the projects she worked on included the Academy Awards, Grammy Awards, VH-1 Honors, Emmy Awards, Arsenio Hall Show, Jerry Lewis Telethon, Blockbuster Awards, Billboard Awards, American Music Awards, KCAL Lakers Basketball, Miss USA Pageant, Miss Universe Pageant, College World Series, Don King Boxing, Prime Ticket Sports, Lou Rawls Parade of Stars, National Easter Seals Telethon, Aspen Comedy Festival, and Soul Train Tribute.
Jane serves on the boards of the non-profit Emerald KidSports in Eugene, Oregon, the German Shorthaired Pointer Club of Oregon and as president of the German Shorthaired Pointer Foundation.
Jane is committed to furthering research and education related to GSPs. She shares her home with 4 GSPs, her husband and teenaged son. Her life is full of dog training and events (conformation, hunt test, field trials, FastCat), watching high school sports (Go Wolfpack!), supporting Oregon Ducks basketball, and playing golf and cribbage with friends.
